上海地下党组织敏锐地发现了这一动向，决定成立“曙光”行动小组，由表面上八面玲珑的商界女强人、实为地下党员的中洋贸易公司单身女经理郭家月牵头，执行保护任务，以年画作坊为掩护的情报站主任王怀志担任这一小组的联络人。
“曙光”一出手即技惊四座，全歼黄龙杰直接从昆明带来的三员干将。由此也引起了黄龙杰的注意，而他毫无察觉的是，他和郭家月之间还存在着一个特殊的关联人物——黄龙杰的妻子沈惠芸正是郭家月的大学好友。
围绕保卫和清除，黄龙杰和郭家月斗智斗勇，他们的属下周海亮、杨帆、肖风、田雨等也各显身手，其间又发生了很多错综复杂的人物关系。。
