很久以前，在祖国美丽的宝岛台湾，住着一位勇敢的青年大尖和一位美丽的姑娘水社。他们相互爱慕，常常在大树下相会。有一天，太阳和月亮被神秘的怪影吞掉了，整个大地陷入一片黑暗。原来，两条住在黑水潭的妖龙偷走了太阳和月亮。大尖和水社决心救出太阳和月亮。他们跋山涉水，在小动物们的帮助下找到了金斧头和金剪刀，杀死了妖龙，救出了太阳和月亮。为了保护太阳和月亮，他们守护在潭水边，后来变成了两座大山，一座叫大尖山，一座叫水社山。原先的黑水潭也变得清澈美丽了，人们便叫它日月潭。。An oil company is drilling in a small town and suddenly they face volcanic eruption. This seems a small event at first sight but soon it becomes clear that it is the start of a long chain of eruptions.
