Five carpoolers travel in a motorhome to reach a common destination. Night falls, and to avoid a dead animal carcass, they crash into a tree. When they come to their senses, they find themselves in the middle of nowhere. 剧团实习生广子（常盘贵子 饰）偶然结识沉默的画家晃次（丰川悦司 饰），当她得知晃次患有听力障碍时，便对这个带着神秘气质的男人产生了浓厚兴趣。她自学手语，直等到再次相逢时大胆约对方喝茶。他们的爱情充满喜乐悲欢，也因交流上的障碍而产生不少误会。两个世界的人，最终能否走到一起？
