1980年代初，随着录像带技术的普及，人们开始逐渐远离电影院。此时电影导演若松孝二却逆时代而行，在名古屋创办了一家迷你电影院。此时曾经心怀电影梦，后来却迫于婚姻与生活压力的青年木全纯治，回到家乡名古屋，当起了一名普通的录像机销售员。而无意之中，他被若松导演选定担任这家影院的经理。 在若松的影响之下，木全的经营虽然不断受到冲击，但在众人的积极合作之下，影院终于度过危机。而井上淳一、金本法子等各种热爱电影的年轻人们，也纷纷被吸引到了这里…。伍迪·艾伦自导自编自演作品，藉由一场派对，呈现出人们善变的情绪，以及复杂性事的轻喜剧。。A civil war rages across a vast, seemingly unpopulated landscape.
