相信很多人曾经在电视上看过这部52集的TV动画片。很多观众误以为这是一部欧美国家的动画作品，但其实这是一部日本动画片，只是风格比较靠近欧美式。本片故事，音乐和画面据当时而言十分出色，使当时的年轻观众深深记住了它。值得一提的是这部作品的中文普通话配音十分出色，堪称早期异国片成功本地化的优秀典范。。
