在日本岐阜县某座城市，生活着无忧无虑的小黑猫鲁道鲁夫（井上真央 配音）。原本优哉游哉陪伴着小主人理惠的他，不小心钻进了货柜车中，结果一路被带到了东京。在这座完全陌生的大都会里，他邂逅了认识人类文字的流浪猫首领——虎斑猫易白易阿特那（铃木亮平 配音）。
由于对自家的情况说不清道不明，所以易白易阿特那认为鲁道鲁夫很难回到故乡了。失落的鲁道鲁夫被迫开始了流浪猫的生活。在此期间，他跟随易白易阿特学习人类文字，从而掌握了许多珍贵的求生技巧。而从新交到的朋友布奇（八岛智人 配音）那里，他得知了能够回到老家的办法。可是就在启程的第一天，易白易阿特在和牛头犬德比尔（古田新太 配音）的争斗中身负重伤……。U.S. version of the British show 'Love Island' where a group of singles come to stay in a villa for a few weeks and have to couple up with one another.
