大学助理教授久住哲一郎（细川俊夫 饰）曾遭遇一起恐怖神秘的事件。六年前，哲一郎的赖子（江岛由里子 饰）患肺结核，夫妻二人回到赖子的乡下老家静养。在赖子哥哥健一（仓桥宏明 饰）的帮助下，他们在一所当地人称为“鬼屋”的房子里居住下来，日常生活由哲一郎开办的诊所维持。
