It follows Tom and his mother, who live in a mobile home on the edge of the woods. A young man just released from prison interferes in their life by breaking in and upsetting the balance.。A man is in radio contact with his family when their airplane is shot down. He wants those responsible and becomes a criminal to get a job as deep sea diver with those salvaging the plane's cargo.。风起云涌的20世纪70年代前后，大洋的另一面，人类实现首次登月。而在地球的这一边，日本国内学生运动此起彼伏，方兴未艾。心中仍有一团烈火的青年记者泽田（妻夫木聪 饰）注视着前辈与后辈同学们的“壮举”，内心百感交集。在记者前辈中平的介绍下，泽田拟对自称梅山的青年活动家（松山研一 饰）进行独家报道。梅山满口远大理想，天花乱坠，事后虽有中平的告诫提醒，可是泽田仍不由自主地去相信梅山的革命设想。在此期间，他识破了梅山的一些谎言，也觑见了其组织不切实际的一面。然而梅山就有如病毒一般，不仅将泽田，乃至他的战友、伙伴全部带入万劫不复的深渊……
本片根据川本三郎的同名报告文学改编，并荣获2011年电影旬报十佳第九名。。
