This is most certainly a film about loss—the lo...。财神（陈山聪 饰）在人间人气极高，凡人们都争先恐后的向他进贡祈求财运降临，导致财神恃宠而骄，横行霸道，惹得众神仙十分不满，但就连玉帝也拿他没有办法。一次意外中，粗心大意的财神误将本该属于好人梅赛乾（黎耀祥 饰）的财富给了好吃懒做的王百万（单立文 饰），玉帝趁此机会将财神贬下凡间，命他解决了他所制造的麻烦才能够重返天庭。
就这样，转世投胎的财神成为了王百万的儿子，化名王招财，在众神仙的作弄之下，王招财并没有身为财神的记忆，这也就意味着他或许一辈子要做个凡人了。哪知道机缘巧合令王招财和梅赛乾相遇了，为了避免计划被破坏，众神仙派出美艳的徐婵（姚嘉妮 饰）从中作梗。。通过一条街道在三个时期的不同变化，表现了谭竹青同志几十年如一日，心系群众，全心全意为老百姓服务的感人故事，塑造了谭竹青真实、生动、感人至深的人物形象。。
