From the crea...。在下关半岛的大间渔港，渔民小滨房次郎（绪形拳 饰）独自将女儿养大，女儿鹭子（夏目雅子 饰）与咖啡店工作的青年俊一（佐藤浩市 饰）相爱。俊一为博得房次郎的欢心，决定随其学习打鱼。经过几天等待，二人终于遭遇金枪鱼群。房次郎只顾专心捕鱼，俊一则不慎被鱼线缠头，险些丧命。出院后的俊一夫妇搬回城里居住，房次郎终于孤身一人。
一年后，俊一和鹭子回到渔村。某晚俊一出海未归，无线电中断。房次郎出海寻找，发现俊一正跟一条大鱼搏斗，筋疲力尽，奄奄一息……
