刘成偶然聆听过一位年轻人的精彩演奏后，登门拜访了其恩师余教授（陈凯歌），并说服对方收下刘小春为徒。刘小春怀着无奈与遗憾离开了江老师，投身余教授门下，却只收获了束缚与压抑，他开始怀疑“父亲的选择”，与父亲的关系越变越紧张。。
